A Wisconsin village is named one of the top retirement spots in America. The Village of Waukesha, located just outside the city limits of Waukesha in Southern Wisconsin, is the only one in the state to make the list.
Banking rates dot com surveyed residents and officials across the U.S., targeting towns with populations between 1-thousand and 10-thousand.
The Village of Waukesha has a population close to 85-hundred, according to the most recent census.
The survey asked about income and quality of life with an eye on crime rates. The Village of Waukesha received high scores across the board, including the general cost of living for retirees at $3,500 a month. It shows the average rent payment is $1,375.
The Village of Waukesha made the top-40 and is the only Wisconsin location on this specific list.
Village officials claim the semi-rural environment, the necessary services available, and an affordable tax rate is what draws residents to the area.
