WISS and WGBW win Wisconsin Broadcasters Association Awards

GREEN BAY, WI – (WISS & WGBW) – Civic Media radio stations WISS and WGBW won three awards from the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association (WBA) during the WBA Awards Gala in Madison on May 4th. 

WISS in Oshkosh won first place for best promotional announcement for “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend (Brewers Promo).

WISS won 2nd Place for Best Specialty Programming for “Maino and the Mayor Take on EAA.” This program features WISS and WGBW morning show “Maino and the Mayor.”

“Maino and the Mayor” also won 2nd Place for Best Specialty Programming in a separate category for WGBW in Green Bay. This was for “Maino & the Mayor Veteran’s Day/Thanksgiving Day Special.” 

Todd Michaels, station manager for WGBW and WISS, said he is very proud of the talented team he works with.

“We have something special. We have so much talent with our morning show “Maino & the Mayor” and also with our production and promotions staff. Their creativity, commitment to excellence, and commitment to promoting what is best about our communities makes Civic Media a joy to work with,” said Michaels. “Next year, we hope to do even more!”
