I grew up in Kenosha county, just a few miles Southwest of Racine.
I got into radio when I injured myself delivering beer for CJW distributing in Kenosha. I was always told I had a decent voice and my Sister, Lacy Turner had a pretty successful career doing radio all over the country. Her fist station was one folks might remember, WTSO in Madison.
I worked at WMIR in Lake Geneva, WIIL and WLIP in Kenosha, did traffic reports for numerous stations for Metro traffic, at that time in downtown Milwaukee, and worked for our sister stations in West Bend, WIBD and WMBZ.
Some of my favorite artists are Steely Dan, Boston, The Who, the Doobie Brothers and lots of acts that were big in the 70’s and 80’s. It’s a lot of fun when I get to play my favorites on WRJN!
When not at work my wife and I love to travel and hang out at home gardening, cooking and doing yard work. (yes I actually like yard work!) I’m also a big reader and do a lot of downhill skiing in the winter. I have two daughters who are in college. I love them both dearly but the “empty nest syndrome” is not a problem for me in any way.
